Faith In The Ordinary

DON’T WAIT FOR A BIG MOMENT TO BE FAITHFUL
Good morning, A-Tall-Order family! 💙☕🙏
It’s Monday.
No dramatic music. No fireworks.
Probably just an alarm clock, a cup of coffee, and somebody wondering why the weekend lasted approximately fourteen minutes. 😂☕
Monday can feel so… ordinary.
Get up.
Get ready.
Go to work.
Answer messages.
Run errands.
Take care of people.
Cook dinner.
Do the dishes.
Try to remember why you walked into the other room. 😂
Repeat.
And sometimes, while we’re living all those ordinary moments, we’re waiting for God to do something BIG.
The breakthrough.
The opportunity.
The answered prayer.
The new beginning.
The moment when everything finally changes.
But here’s what I don’t want us to miss:
💙 God isn’t only present in the big moments.
📖 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
— Colossians 3:23 KJV
Whatsoever.
That’s a pretty big word for all the little things.
The job nobody applauds.
The meal you prepare.
The person you encourage.
The email you answer.
The prayer you whisper while driving.
The kindness nobody posts about.
The responsibility you handle when you’d rather not.
The decision to do the right thing when absolutely nobody would know if you didn’t.
It all matters.
We sometimes think purpose has to look impressive.
But what if purpose looks like being faithful with Monday?
What if the life God is building isn’t happening somewhere out in the future?
What if He’s building it while you’re doing today’s ordinary things?
David had ordinary days tending sheep before Goliath ever showed up.
Joseph had ordinary days of responsibility before he ever stood in Pharaoh’s palace.
Jesus spent years living an ordinary life before His public ministry began.
💙 Don’t despise the ordinary season.
There are things God develops in ordinary places that we’ll need when extraordinary moments arrive.
Character.
Patience.
Discipline.
Compassion.
Faithfulness.
Trust.
So don’t spend Monday wishing it were Friday.
Don’t spend this season wishing you were already in the next one.
And please don’t wait for your life to become exciting before you start living it. 💙
Make the coffee. ☕
Do the work.
Love your people.
Keep your word.
Pray while you’re folding the laundry.
Be kind to the cashier.
Encourage the coworker.
Pet the dog. 🐶
Beans would like everyone to know that last one is actually the most important part of today’s message. 😂💙
And remember:
💙 There are no insignificant days when they’re placed in God’s hands.
This Monday matters too.
A-Tall-Order
Faith. Love. Purpose. 💙
