You Made It Here. Now Rest. | Sunday Encouragement
Good Sunday morning, A-Tall-Order family! đđâ You made it.
Monday needed grace.
Tuesday didnât go exactly according to plan.
Wednesday came with questions.
Thursday reminded us to notice the blessings already around us.
Friday taught us that everything doesnât have to be finished today.
Saturday reminded us to stop rehearsing what weâve already surrendered.
And now?
Itâs Sunday.
Maybe instead of asking, âWhat do I need to do next?â
Today we ask:
âGod, can I just sit with You for a while?â
đ âMy soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.â â Psalm 62:5 KJV
There is always something else to do.
Another load of laundry.
Another email.
Another decision.
Another problem waiting patiently for us to remember it exists. đ
But there also comes a time when we need to stop doing and simply spend some time being with God.
Not because weâve earned rest.
Not because every problem is solved.
Not because the house is spotless, the inbox is empty, and everybody suddenly decided to behave themselves. đ We rest because God is still working when we arenât.
Thatâs a hard lesson for those of us who like to help God manage things. đâ
But Sunday reminds us:
The world kept turning while you slept last night. The sun came up without your assistance.
God remained faithful while you were resting.
And He will still be God when you close your eyes tonight. Maybe thatâs part of grace too.
Knowing when enough is enough for today.
So worship Him.
Read His Word.
Sit quietly.
Spend time with people you love.
Laugh.
Take the walk.
Drink the coffee.
Pet the dog. đśđ
And yes, Beans has informed me that particular spiritual discipline should receive considerably more attention. đđž
Donât spend your entire Sunday mentally living in Monday. Monday will get here soon enough.
And when it does? There will be grace waiting for you there today. Today you are here. God is here. And thatâs enough.
You made it here. Now rest.
đ

Okay, A-Tall-Order family, weâre ending our Grace for This Day week with something simple.
No fixing.
No figuring.
No planning the next seven days before Sunday dinner. đ
Hereâs todayâs question:
What is ONE thing youâre giving yourself permission to enjoy today?
Maybe itâs:
⪠Worship
đ Quiet time with God
â Coffee without rushing
â¤ď¸ Time with family
đś Time with your four-legged sidekick
đł A walk outside
đ˝ď¸ Sunday dinner
đś Worship music
đ Laughing with somebody you love
đľ Putting the phone away for a while
đ´ A napâand we will not be accepting arguments against this option đ
đď¸ Simply doing absolutely nothing for a little while
Finish this sentence:
âToday Iâm going to rest by ______.â
Then find someone elseâs answer and leave them a â¤ď¸ or đ.
And hereâs our Sunday challenge:
DONâT BORROW MONDAY TODAY.
When your mind starts racing into tomorrow, remind yourself:
âMonday will have Mondayâs grace. Today Iâm living Sunday.â
Then come back to where you are.
You made it here.
God carried you.
Rest awhile.
Tomorrow has fresh grace. đ
Abby
A-Tall-Order
Faith. Love. Purpose. đ
