A Time To Surrender

Some of us woke up this morning carrying things we were never meant to carry all day.

The conversation.

The decision.

The deadline.

The person we’re worried about.

The situation we can’t

The question we can’t answer.

And that one imaginary conversation we’ve already had seventeen times in our head. 😂☕

Anybody? Just me? 😆

Sometimes we say we’ve given something to God…

…and then spend the rest of the day checking to make sure He’s handling it correctly.

“Lord, I surrender this completely to You.”

Five minutes later:

“Okay, but here’s what I think You should do…” 😂

Today, God is inviting us to do something that can be incredibly difficult:

Put it down.

📖 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

— 1 Peter 5:7 KJV

Notice Scripture doesn’t say:

Explain all your care to Him and then pick it back up. It says: CAST IT.

There are things you can do something about.

Do those things.

Make the phone call.

Have the conversation.

Take the step.

Apologize.

Apply.

Prepare.

Pray.

But there are also things that are completely outside your control. And worrying harder will not suddenly put them inside it. Sometimes faith looks like moving. But sometimes faith looks like opening your hands and saying:

“God, this belongs to You now.” You don’t have to know how He’s going to work it out. You don’t have to understand the timing. You don’t have to figure out everybody else’s choices. You don’t have to solve tomorrow before you’ve even finished your coffee today. ☕😂

You can simply trust the One who already knows tomorrow.

So whatever you’ve been carrying this week—

You can put it down now.

God’s hands are stronger than yours. 💙

Okay, A-Tall-Order family, we’re doing something simple today.

Imagine you’re standing before God with your hands closed tightly around whatever has been weighing on you.

Now open them. 👐

What are you putting in God’s hands today?

You don’t have to explain the whole situation.

One word is enough.

Maybe it’s:

💙 My family

🙏 My future

💼 My job

💵 My finances

❤️ A relationship

🩺 Someone I love

🚪 A decision

⏳ The timing

😟 My worries

❓ Something I don’t understand

🕊️ Something completely outside my control

Finish this sentence:

“God, today I give You ______.”

And once you type it?

Here’s the challenge:

Don’t pick it back up. 💙

When your mind wanders back to it later today, instead of rehearsing the worry again, simply pray: “God, I already gave You that. I trust You with it.”

Then find somebody else’s comment and leave them a ❤️ or 🙏.

No advice required.

No fixing anybody’s situation.

Just a quiet way of saying:

“I’m standing with you while you trust God with this.” Let’s make the comments a place where people can lay some things down today.

Open hands.

Quiet hearts.

A faithful God. 🙏💙
