Grace For A New Day

MAYBE THE INTERRUPTION IS PART OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Good morning, A-Tall-Order family! ☀️☕💙

Yesterday we talked about not carrying the entire week at once.

One day.

One step.

Grace for today.

Well… today we’re going to talk about what happens when we have our day perfectly planned—

and somebody has the audacity to interrupt it. 😂

You know the kind. You've got the list.

You’ve got the schedule.

You’ve got the coffee.

You are READY. ☕😆

And then…

The phone rings.

Someone needs you.

The appointment runs late.

Traffic stops.

A coworker needs help.

A child, spouse, friend, parent—or somebody you barely know—needs a little more of your time than you planned to give.

And suddenly your beautifully organized Tuesday has gone rogue. 😂

But what if every interruption isn’t necessarily an inconvenience?

What if sometimes it’s an opportunity?

📖 “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”

— Luke 6:31 KJV

Jesus noticed people.

People who weren’t on anybody else’s schedule.

People others walked past.

People who needed healing.

People who needed compassion.

People who simply needed to know that somebody saw them.

And sometimes following Jesus means allowing enough room in our lives to notice who’s standing in front of us.

Now, let’s be clear:

You don’t have to say yes to everything.

Boundaries are good.

Responsibilities matter.

And some interruptions are genuinely just interruptions. 😆

But before becoming frustrated today, maybe ask: “God, is there something You want me to notice here?”

Maybe the person who talks a little longer than you planned needs somebody to listen.

Maybe the coworker asking for help is having a harder day than you realize.

Maybe the phone call you almost didn’t answer becomes exactly the conversation somebody needed.

Maybe your schedule changes and something beautiful happens because it did.

We spend a lot of time asking God to use us.

Sometimes He answers by putting somebody directly in our path.

And occasionally our response is:

“Lord, could You please use me at a more convenient time?” 😂☕

Today, let’s leave a little room for God.

Handle your responsibilities.

Keep moving toward your goals.

Do what needs to be done.

But don’t become so committed to completing the list that you miss the person standing beside it.

Because maybe— the interruption is part of today’s assignment.💙

Okay, A-Tall-Order family, let’s practice something today.

Before we automatically say—

“I don’t have time for this!” 😂

Let’s ask:

“God, is there something You want me to notice here?”

So here’s today’s question:

Who could use a little of what you have today?

Maybe somebody needs:

💙 Five minutes of your time

🙏 A quick prayer

📱 An encouraging text

👂 Someone who will actually listen

😂 A laugh

☕ A cup of coffee and a conversation

❤️ A little patience

🌱 Something you’ve learned

🤝 A helping hand

😊 Someone simply noticing them

Finish this sentence:

“Today I’m going to make room to ______.”

Maybe your answer is:

Listen.

Encourage.

Call Mom.

Pray with somebody.

Help a coworker.

Put the phone down and really listen.

One word is enough.

Then find someone else’s answer and encourage them with a ❤️ or 🙏.

And here’s our Tuesday challenge:

NOTICE ONE PERSON.

Not fifty.

Not everybody.

Just one.

Look up from the list long enough to see who’s around you.

Because sometimes we ask God for an opportunity to make a difference…

…and then get annoyed when the opportunity interrupts our schedule. 😂💙

One day.

One person.

One opportunity.

Fresh grace.
